Albatross is built by an independent developer who believes your writing is your business, not anyone else’s. This policy explains, in plain English, what happens to your data when you use Albatross.

Information We Don’t Collect
Albatross does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
- Your name, email address, or other personal identifiers
- Your manuscripts, notes, outlines, or any content you write
- Your writing habits, session times, or word counts
- Your IP address, device identifiers, or location
- Advertising or tracking data of any kind
There are no analytics trackers, no third-party advertising SDKs, and no behavioural profiling in Albatross.

Information That Stays on Your Device
Everything you create in Albatross — your manuscripts, outlines, notes, writing statistics, progress history, and app preferences — is stored locally on your Mac. It is never transmitted to the developer or any third party.

Crash Reports and Diagnostics
If you have opted in to sharing crash reports and analytics with app developers in your Mac’s system settings (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may send anonymised crash reports and usage diagnostics to the developer. This data:
- Is fully anonymised by Apple before it reaches the developer
- Contains no personal information or content from your documents
- Is used solely to identify and fix bugs
You can opt out of this at any time in System Settings.

Purchases
Albatross is distributed through the Mac App Store. All purchases, receipts, and subscription management are handled by Apple. The developer receives anonymised, aggregated sales data from Apple (such as the number of downloads per country) but never receives your name, email, or payment details.

Support Communications
If you contact support by email, your message and email address will be used only to respond to your enquiry. Support emails are not added to any mailing list, shared with third parties, or used for marketing.
Support emails are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted.

Third-Party Services
Albatross does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third parties involved in the app are:
- Apple — for App Store distribution, iCloud sync (if enabled), and optional crash reporting
- Your email provider — only if you choose to email support

Your Rights
Because Albatross does not collect personal information, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete. You have full control of your documents at all times — they live on your device and are yours to keep, export, or delete as you wish.
If you have emailed support, you may request deletion of that correspondence at any time by writing to the address below.

Children’s Privacy
Albatross is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. For any significant changes, a notice will also be shown inside the app.
